Just finished playing in the snow. Had about 2-3 inches. Made the best snowman in my life. Perfect snow for rolling balls. The kids loved it. Last time it snowed was in 2002. This is the most snow I have seen in Baytown ever.

The best part is, the temp was 31F and that will be the low tonight. I was hot out there in my jacket and jeans. Snow instantly melts on the roads, so should be no problem driving around (except for the bridges).

I HATE snow! But .... because I am an old dog with a three year old, I guess I'm hoping it will show up here in New Orleans. If it does, I will have to take 9,000 photos of him playing in it, and drive all my friends nuts by making them look at the dang things!

My daughter took these last night about 10 p.m. she lives in League City about 45 miles north of us. We had snow flakes in the air but it didn't accumulate. It's 35 right now. A couple of months ago a major hurricane, now snow. It's crazy.

We had a total of 4 inches which is the heaviest hit in the houston area. Kids school starts late. Snow is melting fast, it will be gone by noon.

I agree LF, hurricane Ike in September, then heavy (for Houston) snow in December. What a mixed up world.

This is a little fuzzy but as you can see the kiddos were busy last night. Mom let them stay up late to make snowmen. :)

I just hope the Queen Palms (all 7 of them) and the rest of the landscaping survive it.

So what if there's a little grass in it. LOL :)

2-3 inches is a blizzard?? We call that a dusting.:p

We've been getting that every 2-3 days since Thanksgiving.
On Tues we picked about 9 inches.

These are from last year but it looks like we're heading that way again. 20+ inches in the last 2 weeks.

Its amazing how fine a line it is between sticking and not sticking or even snow and rain. We had quite a bit over in Sugar Land but it melted as soon as it hit the ground (33F). Yesterday in the morning it rained enough that even a 3-5F drop would have been over a foot of snow. I've never actually seen it rain that much at 35F. When our temperature drops its usually very dry outside. Its usually at least 4 years between getting anything. The last big one was in 2004 on Christmas Eve where they had up to 6 inches in places.

I didn't hate snow this morning. I would have, except that my little man got to see it for the first time on the way to school. I pointed it out to him several times before it actually hit him that he was seeing something new. This is true because we had been engaged in our morning ritual of looking for "thomases" (trains), which is his favorite thing in the whole world to do. Trust me when I tell you that there are very few things that will distract him from the all important hunt for trains!

We also played in it for a moment between the car and the school building. I had to do all the goofy snow stuff, like have him catch a snowflake with his tongue.

Here's a pic of the boat. I actually took too long to take because we ended up with a bit of rain after the snow, which washed some of it off. Thus far, we only have about a half inch, but I have heard reports of 7" - 8" in some areas north of Lake Ponchartrain!
