Evinrude 40 and 50 hp

I?ve got a Evinrude 50hp -75 and i wonder if some parts are the same as on Evinrude 40hp -75? Parts like the lower unit, ignition, shifter...

you can go to shopevinrude.com and put your info in under parts and look up all the #s.


the lower units show to be different. not sure about the rest, but from the differences i saw on the lower units not much will interchange....but some parts probably will.

The motors are COMPLETELY different. I'd dare say the only parts compatible are the lower unit drain plugs. The 40hp is the old Big Twin design, while the 50hp is the big-bore 2-cylinder looper design. Different animals...
