Need Help with Bilge Pump

One of my bilge pumps needs replaced, but I cannot figure out what it takes to remove it. The pumps are Rule 360 GPH, but it appears that the normal blue colored filters have been taken off and some kind of mount has been used. I can't budge it by twisting, and there is nothing snapped into the slots on the sides, and I can't feel any bolt heads or screws anywhere at all. I am attaching a picture so you can see. Is anyone familiar with this kind of mount/setup? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Michael

That may be my problem. Any suggestions on removing it? Should I attempt to twist it free with a pipe wrench to break it lose?

If it is broke, breaking it more won't hurt. Hopefully it snaps away from the epoxy cleanly. Looks like the "epoxy mount" is on your hull to stay. Not a bad thing as it should make a nice seat for the new one.

Yeah, looks glued in place to me, 3M 5200, silicone? I epoxied one to my old glass boat and was able to pop it off intact, did this while stripping out the boat so if it busted I didn't care.

Try to work it loose with a couple of standard screw drivers underneath.

Re: Need Help with Bilge Pump

I tried to seperate the pump from the mount and had no luck, and then I tried to seperate the mount from the hull. As you can see in the pictures, I chewed it up pretty good. It seems that the pump has a "spout" that goes through the hull - does that make sense? There was some silicone around the base and I removed it (I thought it was glue). Now I have a huge leak all around the pump when I put the boat in the water and I still can't get the pump out. Has anyone seen a bildge pump that goes through the hull like this?

Re: Need Help with Bilge Pump

I think I just realized that these aren't my bilge pumps at all, but the livewell pumps instead. I'm throwing in the towell.
