Re: Furance went no heat all night long !

It was easy actually. Had power everywhere to the plug that the glow plug went into.

The glow plug was under the burner so i couldn't see it.

When i pulled it i saw the crack and double checked that i had power to the plug.

The rest was elementary, Watson.

It was a lot easier than some of the problems we try to help people with their boats.

And i could touch the damn thing, there we have to try to help someone 3 thousand miles away or around the world.

We don't know what they did, or didn't do, their skill set, and tool sets.

And half the time they don't tell us the whole story, or real story, or are embarrased at the stupid thing they did, and don't want to tell us, sometimes i wonder why we try to help half the people that post.

Thanks guys just venting, i guess and there is NOTHING TO DO !

Bought a house with a fuel oil furnace, and the burner worked intermittently.
The purchase had one of those "home buyer's insurance plans" that covered
it, but the insurance company balked and then sent a guy with a new burner
unit. He was new on the job, and really didn't know how to change and install
the unit. I'm no furnace repairman, but I can read and follow instructions, so
I helped him install the new unit after drilling some new holes. Works fine.

I still have it checked out and the furnace cleaned periodically by the furnace
guys who know what they are doing. Lots of different things can go wrong,
and need to be inspected periodically.

Good idea to have a fireplace or wood burner elsewhere in the house,
all the same.

You have to be ready for anything. Be prepared.

Children and wemon who don't have people depending on them to get them thru the night can afford to be careless.

A man i believe, if you has a family that depends on you, For food on the table and heat in the house can't make mistakes.

Mistakes can sometimes be fatal. Don't get me wrong everyone makes mistakes, but not having wood for a fireplace i do have, is a stupid mistake, and sometimes there is no excuse.

Not having gas for a generator you do have is another. And i had to run that for like ten hours straight till natural gas, and the electric was restored to the house cause of a tornado. Thinking about it was longer.

Thank you guys for chiming in, must be real bored people everywhere.
