This morning, I'm surfing trying to figure out what to get the Mrs for Christmas. We both agreed that we would take money set aside for Christmas and send to the Lester Wright Fund (which we did).

However, she said it just wouldn't seem right not to have anything to open up for Christmas. So, I agreed that we would get each other something.

Well,,,,,this morning I'm looking at GPS units. She has always (like many other women) have accused my bullheadedness in not asking for directions. Yeah, I know, it probably be more beneficial for me though. Then she say "Do you remember that video clip about the doghouse guy?" Uh, yup dear I remember........She says "So do you want to go to the doghouse?" So I guess a GPS is out of the question if I want to stay out of the doghouse.

I'm still at a loss on what to get her. She is satisfied with what jewelry she has and has stressed she doesn't want anymore. She collects bears, but the house is already busting at the seams with bears. Heck, there is even bear stuff on our boat!

I know to stay out of the doghouse that I must get something that is feminine and personal. Sexy garments is not an option as it would be like putting a thong on great grandma I don't even want to think about that!

All I know is that it can't take batteries and it can't be used by anyone but her. Boy does this suck wind thinking on the limitations that I'm up against. Staying home and staying sober is what she likes about me best (until boat season that is)

PS, please give to Lester's family, he was their whole life and without him, they are at such a major loss. I feel for them dearly......Thanks to those who have........................SS

Get her a gift certificate to the local spa, she'll love you for it.

She can have a sit in the steam room, facial, nails done or whatever she wants.

Maybe a message with a hunk of a guy who knows.

My misses loves it, and she has enough earrings and such.

The spa thing has always been a big hit with the ladies in the family. Giving her 2 "sessions" opens the option of her taking a friend. That seems to be a big plus to women. I guess it's like the bathroom thing.

belive me i feel your pain. we have been very fortunate over the last 26 years, and my wife and kids want for nothing. it makes it very hard for christmas and birthdays. i still have nothing for her yet. today is the day for shopping o well she has put up with me for a long long time

Sounds good for the spa thing, but our location, there isn't any that is within an hours drive. I will check with the oldest daughter since she is in the beautician business. She might know of one closer that is not listed in the phone book. Thanks,,,,,,Keep them coming........SS

Also, is she a tea, coffee or Hot chocolate drinker? My Girlfriend drinks a lot of tea and Hot chocolate and I went out and bought her some high quality stuff and a high quality candy bar. thats one of those "he really knows me" gifts. I also tossed in a comment about always seeing her drinking the store brand and figured some good stuff would be nice. It sure was a hit.

Over the years I have spent 'leventy bazillion on the LOML and my daughters. The things they seem to have appreciated most have been the simplest, and sometimes the least expensive.

#1 thriller of all time: A handwritten note telling her why I love her so much, accompanied by a simple pendant on a gold chain. Couldn't have cost me over $20 and a few hours of composing and editing, then carefully handwriting the result.

Gifts that don't become "stuff" over time. Gifts that become treasured memories and are personal please my wimminfolk most.

Her engagement ring came from Jareds, 2nd year was diamond ear rings (ones she hasn't taken out in 11 years) 3rd year was diamond pendant. The pendant always goes on when special occasions arise at home or out. 4th year,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
























I got the BOAT!!!!!!

Then came grandkids,,,,,,,,,,,,,,then more gandkids,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and I got the word last week from my son Carl that a baby boy is due on my birthday. That brings the total to 13 now. This Christmas as well as the last 4 have been cash only. Not spending what we don't have has turned out to be a very good thing.

Wow, my wife must be a push-over. I am the worst at buying gifts, one year I gave her a pretty red Craftsman riding lawn mower. I thought it to be practical since she was mowing 2 acres with a push mower before. (before you go there, remember I was a trucker and was rarely home)

I guess the best I did was jewelry, I'm not sure they can ever have enough of that. This year I got her an upper end digital point and shoot camera. Having owned a portrait studio with my daughter it was very embarrassing to see my wife pull out her disposable 35mm cameras when ever she would take pictures.

I figure most any woman would love the spa thing, and it sounds like a very good idea. Since you said they are not in your local area, why not make it a romantic get-away and take her to one for the weekend. I'm not sure about your area but, I'm sure you could find one somewhere that is an Inn. Treat yourself too and go with her.

Being in the photography industry, I have in the past done reprints of old pictures for people as gifts. It's getting a little late for something like that though. If I can help you out in that area let me know, since I retired I have very little to do and the turn around time is only about three days.

SS. Is she in charge of the house keeping? Do you all have carpet? Get her one of those robotic vacuum cleaners, my brother heard some good things about those machines, he's getting one for my mother.

A gift card would be a second choice if I was in your shoes.
