ok, from reading the forums, it's accutely obvious that some of you have some kind of "magic" for knowing parts numbers, and have kindly given me part number info a couple of times. thanks for that. but several other times i've asked for them i've gotten nothing...and that's ok too, because i'd be just as happy to look up things like that myself...but for one problem...i have no idea where to look. repeated asking has gotten me nowhere. shopping iboats for things like impeller kits and carb kits and such shows too much potential for ordering the wrong part, since it's not always obvious which one you need unless you have the OEM part number.

so i bellied up and ordered the parts manual from right here at iboats.

now i want someone to make me feel better that i did the right thing. the reason i'm worried is that like anything else, i bet a HUGE number of those parts have superseded numbers, and i'm scared that i just flushed my $35 down the toilet on a parts manual full of useless, out of date part numbers.

I think you're OK, if you have the original part number. I'm pretty sure that the Evinrude site will give you the right part number if you have the original to start with. The magic formula that others have is that they are old farts :)p:p) that are former or current marine mechanics and have the old manuals and parts lists at their disposal.
