Johnson 90 hp Service Manual Question

I have a 2000 Johnson 90 Hp and already own the OMC service manual for the motor itself. I have a tilt and trim problem that I need to repair and the motor manual does not cover the T&T. I need to purchase an Accessories service manual which covers the T&T. My question is I cannot find a 2000 model year Johnson accessories manual but have seen several Evinrude manuals. Would the Evinrude manual be acceptable?? Here is a link to one now.

to be honest, i don't know, Johnson had carb motors, Evinrude had the Ficht.

That model has the Fastrac style trim that was used from 1992 to 2006 on the 70 thru 250 hp looper engines & the 1991-98 crossflows. What type of problem do you have?

I think I need to replace the seals in the T&T unit, when in the upright condition will slowly fall. Nothing leaking but it will slowly fall even when the motor is in use you have to continually raise the trim.

Did you try tightening the maual release screw ?

have you tried topping off the fluid? you run the motor all the way up, lock it, top off fluid, then run it down again, then back up, lock, continue to fill, repeat till it is full.

I will try that when the weather gets a little nicer around here.
I was just getting all my springtime maintaince things together now so I could pull the boat in the garage and go to town without waiting for parts. And I do not like to tear into anything without the manual.

As for the manual, it does not cover FICHT related items. Here is what it covers:

Modular Wiring System
Battery
Fuel Tank
Power Trim/Tilt
- FasTrak
- Conventional
- 25 thru 50
System Check Engine Monitor
Safety

As I stated earlier in the post my service manual does not cover the T&T. Would the Evinrude be the same?? This is only an Accessories service manual which covers the T&T. My OMC manual covers the rest.

I would think the PTT units are the same on the Evinrudes and Johnnys. Why not go on the Crowleymarine.com site and look up the seal kit for both. If the seal kits are the same, the PTT units are the same
