1995 40 Hp Force Wont Run

I can not figure this out please help.Got spark got fuel but it is puking out an excessive amount of fuel out the exhaust and a little bit of smoke but will not start I have fresh fuel and have replaced the filter and pulled the bowl of the carb and it was very clean inside.I did not look like it need cleaned or rebuilt to me .

Not 100% sure, but it kind of sounds like you need to rebuild the carb. My atv was doing the same thing and it turned out that the tip of the needle valve was worn allowing fuel to flow freely.

On a side note, I just rebuilt the carb on my '99 40 and it was a very easy job with the service manual.

I second that.A carb rebuild is a good start.Does the primer bulb get hard?any gas come out the carb?Another source of excessive fuel dumping would be a defective fuel pump diaphram.
