I have been wrestling with a problem for a few months that seems to be common among iBoat Johnson owners. I have the check engine light and buzzer come on intermittently. Although the code says water in fuel after much testing and replacing I don't believe there is now. The FAQs say that this fault could be a fuel supply problem and to check the VRO and anti siphon gear. Q- what is a VRO? I have the oem service manual. I assume the anti siphon would be at the fill end, if it is I don't have one.
I'm thinking that it is a fuel problem because it all started after I emptied the contents (5 gals) of my 2 stroke aux tank into the main tank because I hadn't used it much.
cheers
David

If its a ficht motor it has no VRO and the water is fuel code is a common fault with this model ficht. The problem is in the ECU and software.

Correct, it is a ficht. I have the pc diagnostic software, can I do an upgrade if so where do I get it? I get the feeling I'm way ahead of my local dealer on this.

I dont know of anyone "down under" that repairs this but DFI here in the states do repair them. You also need to switch to the XD-50 oil in not already using. :D

Thanks for that, I sent them an email asking if they have an Aussie branch, failing that I guess it gets shipped to Obama-land.
I just have to be absolutely certain that the fault is in the ecu.
