I have an 18 ft Lakesport aluminum boat with an aluminum center console with live well attached. The front two bolts under the livewell have come loss. How do I go about fixing this? I am not sure what type of bolts to use, reuse the same holes, make different holes? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks

Re: Center Console Repair

Welcome to iboats.

Have the bolts pulled through the aluminum or are the just lose?

Is there and water leaking in there?

A few pictures would help explain what you are talking about.

Re: Center Console Repair

If the bolts have pulled through, one easy thing to do would be to look online or go to your local hardware store and get some blind rivnuts that will fit the same size bolts you already have. Installing the rivnuts is easy and then you can tighten the bolts down really good to keep the livewell sturdy. Also, if your boat vibrates alot in chop you can consider using rubber wellnuts. These are rivnuts that have a rubber outer layer so they absorb vibration while still keeping things nice and sturdy.

Re: Center Console Repair

One bolt is gone and the other is lose and will not tighten and can't be removed. The boat is not located where I am right now. I will try to have pics taken to show the problem.
Thanks for the help!!
