Hi Skeeter02 here again,I need help in my 2hp 2r76s johnson i bought. It was stored away for about a year + month ago from a guy I bought it from an he said it ran plus it has good compression. My question is how do i get this bad boy going again an start taking all the right step's to make it run plus the lever that moves from start to stop is a little med hard like gummed up an the high speed nob (rich & lean) is stuck!I would like to convert it with a med fuel tank w/line leading to it an avoid the very small tank but i can do with it if it's better using what it has (small tank) an do you know how long it runs on that little tank by any chance.I'm ready to do tune-up please help in anyway thanks again...Skeeter02 out!

Getting it running should be easy. dump any fuel in the tank and/or bowl. Then add a fresh mix of 50:1 (with some seafoam carb cleaner.). It might run a bit rough at first but the more it runs, the smoother it should get. My 82' had been in storage for 8 years and this is what I did. As for the lever, clean and lube to see if it free's up at all. Leave teh jet alone unless she doesn't run right. Chances are it's where it needs to be already.

i have the same motor, they will run probably 2 hours at wide open with the built in tank. i would clean and rebuild the carb, replace the impeller. before that i would check for spark, and compression, before spending any money. the motor does not have a fuel pump, for a remote tank. it is gravity fed. just get a 1 gallon gas can. my lever is fairly hard to move also. diagrams http://shop2.evinrude.com/ext/index.aspx?s1=bf6ad09c53cead335fcfd8a6471c0f7f

Impeller = Rubber part in water pump that cools the engine. It needs replaced every few years.
