Great info Jason. I wonder though what happens when water gets to that foam in the stringers and/or hull? We'll hope for the best.

Still, a beautiful boat at a great price! I don't think anybody here would turn that deal down!;)

Congrats!

The foam gets heavier silly! :p:D

Beyond that, big deal, it's not going to affect it structurally if the foam gets wet as it isn't there for strength.

Well I was told that the stringers are sealed fiberglass all the way around. and the Foam is a hard closed cell type so it can not retain any water...

As far as the transom goes. I looked at mine and it looks to be fiberglass and foam as well.......

There may be wood in there but I cant see it.

Here are a few pics of my baby..... 118 hours!

Jason your boat is in great condition and looks amazing:D

Congrats on the upkeeping!

I wonder if BlackCypress is still around, and what he decided to do with the boat.

It's unbeleivable a $200 cover, the bow up and no drain plug could've prevented this...if only:rolleyes:

Anyway, BC if you decided to tackle this resto, we want to know mate:D

Hey Guys,
Sorry I checked out for so long. My wife got laid off from her corporate job a week after posting this and the boat took a seat on the backburner. The good news is that she is back to work and I am tackling the beast full steam ahead. I will post new pics this weekend and get new advice. I think this deal is going to work out pretty good. Believe it or not, I am seriously considering doing the reupholster myself. I have been looking for an industrial sewing machine in my price range. I am handier than average and a freakish perfectionist on projects. So I might have a chance. The good thing is that all the cushions are there to have patterns. Anyway, thanks for remembering my plight and all the posts giving me encouragement.

jfachner, the foam stringer thing is the best news I have had in a while. And your boat is a beauty. Congrats and thanks for the info.
