I recently swapped carburetors on my 1979 Evinrude 150 to change over to the primer type starting system. I also upgraded from the stock 1" carbs to 1 1/4". Motor has been link and synced. Starting is now instantaneous and the low, mid and top end power has increased dramatically. RPMs up by 400 or so on the top end.

The throttle cam is contoured differently on the donor motor - Should I use this piece instead of the original one?

How about the complete timing linkage? - It looks easier to adjust than the original.

Thanks guys.

Donor motor is a 1989 year crossflow 150.

i would use the whole assembly glad you changeover worked
like the older 235 but prefer primer selinoid may give it a try
i run and 83 175 crossflow with selinoid it fores right up
and if ya think your runnin lean ya can bump your selenoid switch and it should stumble
