Dear Experts - :)

I am seeing a little bit of water being sprayed out just below the cowl on my 81 40hp 2-cycle Mercury OB. She pee's strong and there isn't any water spray inside the cowl. I have attached a picture showing where the water is spraying out, she is spraying water out right where the yellow arrow is pointing in the picture. Seems I may have a water hose leak somewhere or is this normal and I just have never noticed it before...

Thank you for the help folks, it's much appriciated.

It's time consuming as the powerhead must be removed.

Yes Sir, you got that right my friend..!!! I have an appointment scheduled with my boat's "master surgeon" to get this taken care of :) . After your response about the upper mounts, I started looking into what it would take to change those puppies out. As you say, it's a bit of work involved to get to them so I am going to leave this one for my Merc guy. Had my trailblazer in the shop for her 60K service today, so can't take my boat in until tomorrow.. of course it was 70 degrees here (in NC) yesterday, and 75 today, sunny, warm, light breeze - perfect fishing weather..!! Of course when i get my boat back it's gonna be 40 and raining... :-( but I'll have her all set with new upper mounts. My Merc guy completely agrees with the mounts being bad, one thing I failed to mention is that I have some left/right shake when she's running too. My merc guy said this will be caused by the bad upper mounts too. Again, thank you sir for the help. I didn't know where to start until you responded to my post. Too, your help with pointing out the bad mounts may have just saved me from sending my OB for an unwanted swim..!!!
