help with selecting new prop?

guys any help would be much apperiated, i have a 16 foot mirreracraft jonboat with a yamaha 50 horsepower modle 50elj. i took off the prop on the boat and markings on it says, 10x15-g. i have no idea what the diamater or pitch is. i tried looking everywhere, but cant find a 50 elj modle for my yamaha moder. can someone tell me what the pitch and diamater and maybe what prop you would suggest, thanks in advance..

It appears to be a 10" dia and 15" pitch. We need to know how many RPMs you are turning at WOT (wide open throttle) to determine if that can be improved on.

thanks for the fast response, i dont have a tack, so not sure how to get the proper wot, i can get a gps and get the speed at full trothle if that helps, or what would you suggest to get the info you need to help me more, thanks

You may be able to borrow a shop tach.Or get a tiny tach they are easy to install,reasonable price,and will fit any similar motor without regard to stator poles.Just be sure you explain the details to tinytach.Of cxourse you could upgrade your outfit with a dedicated tach.With your present prop size,max rpm and speed we can make a prop suggestion if necessary..Without the rpm rest is pretty useless.

Is your prop aluminum or stainless? How's your holeshot? Does it seem good or a little slow?
