Hi , Im new to the site and would like to get some advice on spring replacement for an escort trailer. I have a 1996 2050 bayliner capri .The springs are past it ,After reading the threads on the site. rust is more than surface and u bolts dont look healthy. Im not sure on the replacement load weights on the springs i can choose from 1500 kg to 2000kg. the gross trailer weight on the plate is 1745kg.
Should i replace with a slipper at1700 kg or go with the 2000 kg. Single axle. I found the site informative. Hope you can help. Regards Jeff

Ayuh,... Each spring has to be rated at, at least 1/2 of that weight....

Welcome!

Go with the 1700 kg rated springs. Even 1500 would be more than adequate. Heavier springs aren't needed, and will just transmit more punishment from road imperfections to the hull.

I'm going to guess from your name you are from Australia. Correct?
