I quit watching NASCAR races when everything became nothing but a big soap opera, the drivers are like actors and the car just a prop.
Back in the 70's NASCAR stood for something.
This is only my opinion but anymore nascar groupies sound like a bunch of cackling women.
I quess this just shows my age.

There is a really strong field this year.
I am not a huge fan of restrictor plate races, but the new car is helping, sure is better than it was 10 years ago.

Would really like Mayfield to have a good finish.

Another one I am watching this year is the #36. I am not a Scott Riggs fan, but I like Tommy Baldwin a lot. Got Ward Burton both the Southern 500 and Daytona. I'd love to see Baldwin's new underfunded team shake up a thing or two.

But I sure would like to see the old guy win this one just once.

EDIT: Would also like to see 14 and 18 drive each other into the ditch.

After watching Junior stupid up for the 3rd time today... anybody but him for this race. His head is definitely not on getting the job done in Daytona.

slowed down yet still stayed the same speed as everyone else . makes sense.. your suppose to come back up and BLEND in.. he didnt do a good job of doing that..

Yeah, it was neat watching that team make it to the show after running up in the 150 qualifier. I think they finished 25 today.

BUT, I have always been and always will be a Mark Martin fan (even if he is driving those darn Chevy's)

I gotta laugh......... Remember when Vickers took out the 48 that way, and won???? The thing I have to laugh about is Jr., he missed his pit box twice and you expect him to miss another car that is only inches away at 190 mph?

Oh, and in case you are wondering, I'm a Jeff Gordon fan, since he started.

i never really could watch every race. but now im a joey fan.. he lives 15mins away and is a year young.. i gave that kid a lot of credit to be out there.. kinda pissed he crashed..

I like the race okay for the usual demolition derby, the usual incompetent, over aggressive destruction of millions of bux worth of fine machinery. Kinseth deserves the survivor award.

I HATE the circus and the gross overhyping. It is a race, for crying out loud, not the second coming.
