I have a 86 suzuki dt150. it runs great on the top end and doesnt hesitate for a secound. my problem is when i am running and if i throttle down to fast the motor dies. it seems like it either all or nothing when i push or pull the throttle. when i try to keep the back of the boat from getting swamped when i slow down it want to take off instead of just moveing forward slowly which makes me think something to do with the cables. the motor idles fine its just when i come down from being on plane fast. i heard from an earlier post someone suggested a link and sync procedure but im unaware of how to do that. any one know the answer. thanks for you help and i love this site!!!

Re: Help if you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Link & Sync is the process of synchronizing throttle opening with timing advance and depending on engine, is a very process intensive procedure that is far too long to type here. You are advised to buy a service manual specific to your engine. Start at the beginning of the procedure and follow it step by step to the end. If you jump around in the procedure you are wasting your time and may be doing more damage than good.

Also, your carb(s) might be running too lean. Throttling down quickly to see if the motor stalls is one test to check a lean condition.
