Mariner 40 HP Lower unit

Is there a place where I can cross reference what lower units will fit my 1986 40 hp Mariner? Need to replace mine, I am sure they put that one more than one motor.

your mariner was made by yamaha. the mariner part# for a15 inch shaft is:1651-7994M and the 20 inch is part#: 1651-7995M. a yam. two cyliner c40 (1990 to1993) will have a similar lower unit. i never tryed the swap my self but if you find a yam. lower- try a side-by-side comparison. this lower is avalable used. good luck!
