I'm looking at an add on Craigs List for a 35hp 1977 Merc. Ad sez tilt/trim was added to the motor, but it comes without the " Control Box". I haven't contacted the seller yet as I want to know what this "control box" costs.

I looked through iBoats Store and cannot find such an item other than a transom mounted switch plate.

When I hear "control box " I'm thinking something that mounts to the console dash or on the main shifter control box.

Any insight is really appreciated.

Thanx.. :)

Re: Tilt/Trim Control Box

In 1977, Merc had the three push button panel for the PTT units. Any three push buttons will replace it. They need to be pretty heavy duty, say 15A switches.

Apparently the transom mounted switch plate in iBoats store is what I would need. If it is heavy enough. I'll check the specs on it.

Many Thanks. :D
