Ok first off I've heard of and seen scarab boats before but I didn't know they were made by wellcraft until today when I looked at one.

this one is a 96 with a 454 and it's 22ft the seller is wanting 13,200 OBO. I didn't put an offer on it because I know nothing about the brand and didn't have time to take it out.

I've been wanting a sport boat lately tho and this looks like it might fit the bill.

It looked to be in overall GOOD cond. but not PERFECT

seller said it was kept in a covered slip on the lake and it has a snap on teal colored top but the interior is somewhat still faded especially where it says scarb etc stiched into the seats.

this is not to get a price check but to hear about the brand wellcraft...I appreciate any input.

thanks

Wellcraft makes a very good boat. I can tell you this it was made for heavy sea's and will probably ride smoother than most boat's and take more abuse than most boats of that type, Is it the fastest or is it the best. Only you will know that when you sit in it feel and drive it. Now this is not fair. what ever nada say's it's value is take 25% off probalby it real value.

But if you like the boat price is relative...Never buy a boat like that without a survey..the cheapest 300 you will ever spend...;)

Yeah just what tail gunner said.

Check out scream and fly's forum for performance boats stuff.

Lots of performance boats for sale right now.

Yeah, and also try speedwake- I think some members over there have 22 Scarabs.
I had an older Wellcraft Nova ('85) and agree with TailGunner- good, solid boats. They had a few "problem" years as far as structual issues, but that was mostly between 88 and 91.
Another thing to consider- performance boats are typically run hard, I mean H A R D, so it's even more important to get a professional's opinion (AKA a survey). I've seen structural damage-obvious and concealed- to those kind of boats that's simply unbelievable.
