Belgian made Mercury 7.5 - any info?

25 years ago I bough a 14 ft boat complete with a 7.5 hp Mercury made in the Marine Power Europe factory in Belgium.

I still have it, although I haven't run it for the last three years. The serial number is 9116787.

I can't find a list of Belgian serial numbers to tell me the year. I suspect it was about 8 years old when I bought it, which would make it about a 1976.

Could anyone confirm?

Now I will know I'm getting the right spares.

Do you have a list of Belgian serial numbers Dunaruna? The only ones I scan access are for US and Canadian built models

Prior to 2002, all Belgium built mercs had a serial number beginning with the number '9'. Some listings may will show '09'.

Prior to 2002, all Belgium built mercs had a serial number beginning with the number '9'. Some listings may will show '09'.
