Good Deal?

Totally new to boating, just looking to get into boating, we did the jet ski thing last year and loved it. Can get a 2002 19' Ebbtide w/ trailer for $8500. Has the Mercruiser 4.3, all the service records, truly one of those deals that was driven by a little old lady just on Sundays. Would this work for a family of 4 to do some basic skiing and wakboarding and tooling around the lake? Any gotchas to look for? TIA

Re: Good Deal?

Welcome to iboats yellj!! :)

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Also should fit the family well. Bowrider? Pics? Maintenance? If no on maintenance the drive needs to come off, aligned and you need a new pump impeller (in drive). Also, going to need all fluids and tune up. Where are you? Is winterization, or lack thereof, a concern?

Edit: see the records note now, I am leaving the list of need to do to compare with what's been done . . .

Yes a 19' Ebbtide with the 4.3 sounds like a good family runabout. Best advice is to either take the boat to an impartial mechanic for an inspection, or if nothing else take a mechanic to look at and start the boat.

No internet forum can spot damage/misuse unless it is very obvious.

Re: Good Deal?

He just had it serviced, has been winterized, will post some pics, is $8500 a reasonable price for this boat in good condition, based on NADA seems like a good deal, but those prices have been a little inflated based on my experience.
