Im just looking for change my steering system, its a Morse Rack Twin Cable system, I called to Teleflex and Customer Support told me that this one is already obsolete, Im pretty sure that this system comes original with my boat. So here is the question.... Would you preffer Rotary or Rack Steering System? My outboard is 115 HP Mariner, Thanks 4 ur replies..... Could the Rotary feels "softer" than Rack??

i prefer rotary, easy of installation, service, far easier than rack. if you want soft, spend the bucks for hydrolic.

Ayuh,...

As long as there's enough Space behind the dash for it,... Go Rotary...

I'm guessing rotary is the standard mechanical steering system,
but what is rack steering?
I have never heard of this.

Ayuh,...

They both just push/ pull a cable,...
1 does it with a round gear,... The other with a flat gear.....

Alota boats don't have the width for a Rack,....
And,..
Alota boats don't have the space for a Rotary casting,...

I see it as What'll Fit,....
