any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
when i turn the switch nothing happens but with the switch on i can jump the solinoid leads and it cranks right up but i dont think it is the solinoid i have replaced it twice with a new one. i tested the switch following the service manual and the only thing that didnt work right was the 2 blue leads connected to the m terminals it says it should not light (the test light) but it did in the off position. would that mean the switch is bad? or do i have a different problem? thanks for any replys

First question is: Did this setup ever work?

If this is a new boat to you, odds are it's wired wrong. If it worked at one time, it's either a bad switch or a wire crossed somewhere in the harness.

check for a inline fuse holder near the solenoid, it has a stubby 20 amp fuse in it. which is for the starting circuit.

There should be continuity between the M terminals in the off position. That is how it stops the motor (shorts the ignition to ground)

I agree, check the fuse first. Plenty of time to check more complicated stuff later.

thanks guys. this boat is new to me and has not worked since i got it! the fuse is not there the wires were cut and replaced with no fuse!! sorry i got it backwards i ment it has continuity in the on position! i checked to the best of my ability using the service manual and everything seems to be wired correctly. ive replaced the starter (which was bad) and the starter solinoid was also missing i replaced twice (someone told me it was bad). now im stumped
