Mercruiser 3.0LX Carb help

hey all, i've got a 3.0LX Mercruiser I4 and i believe the carb is gummed up. i plan on rebuilding it, but i dont know where to find a rebuild kit. where would i be able to pick one up? thanks in advance.

What year? look for your carb number on the ID tag if it still has one mine is missing and Merc tech support gave me three different possible #'s it could be 3310-807504A1 or 3310-805924A2 or kit #810929-39029 fromAftermarket .com kit #IMCKMCU 35.95+ S/H This kit is universal to i believe 3 different carbs and is manufactured by Banks not Siera. good luck! I looked for 2 weeks after the Chief gave me a Merc # to help get me started.

No problem but just waych pricing some are charging entirely too much Merc wants like a total of $70 for some kits that is a combination of 2 kits gaskets and needles and seatsbut the best deal I believe is the IMCKMCU it has everything ? I personally haven't purchased yet but will if you do let me know how it works out. Also read the section in the sticky @ the top of the forum on fuel systems.

with a lot of the mercarbs there are no kits... you have to buy peacemeal.

Whats peacemeal? And oh yea Chief did give me that link. When I called the guy answered from his home on Sunday claiming he could ship nexy day w/ credit card verification. Fast focus I'd like to hear more on any other issues you've had with your LX maybe share some info?

I mean there is no all in 1 kit. You have to buy every single part seperately.

sorry i have not responded lately, its been a crazy time. Anyway, unfortunately i do not have any other issues. The boat has been amazing since the day we brought it home in 1995. This is the first issue i've ever had with it. Hoping its the last.

i have not had the chance to rebuild the carb yet. hopefully in the next few weeks. i will keep you all updated.

Just picked up quicksilver rebuild kit from local marine shop, slightly cheaper then from dealer. Rebuilding it tomorrow so hopefully this is my last problem too! I bought it from friends mom who only put 70 hours on it and it's just about back up and running normal again!!

so the rebuild kit IMCKMCU will work for me? i found the #'s on the carb. they are:
05924A-1
4903

i'm getting ready to order it but want to make sure i get the right thing.

FF just rebuit mine over the last weekend and that kit worked on my 95 3.0LX buy a can of berryman carb cleaner @ auto zone 19.50 have a clean work area and keep everything organized when you disamantle it save all the old gaskets,spacers,washers and jets for comparison after soaking also wash with soapy water after soaking and blow everthing out with compressed air before and after soaking ( thanx to ziggies advise) you also want to pay close attention to the float adjustment proceedure take your time i did and my girl runs better than the day I bought it.
