Johnson 6 gallon fuel tank fuel fitting.

I have a 6 gallon Johnson fuel tank i do not know what year it is or where it came from but now to what i do know... from the pickup tube, on the top of the tank there is a cast 90 degre fitting that has female 1/4 28 threads. i cannot find what originally came on this if it was a special barbed fitting or banjo type? i am hoping that somone would know what the original "fuel out" fitting was to be exact.

I would appreciate any reply!!!

What the heck??? Never heard of such a thing as you describe it. However, the pressure tanks did have 1/4-28 threads. Do you have an old pressurized tank with dual hose?

no pressure. no pump it only has the fill cap and that fuel out.

EDIT: I'm sure you didn't mean a 1/4" NPT tapered pipe thread did you? They have those fittings here at iboats.

Go to 1982 evinrude - 9.9 - gas tank less gauge and look at the parts. Rick.

no the threads are 1/4 28 all day long not tapered or nothing

i looked at both tanks you suggested rick and it is not like either of them

Got it....maybe. Is this your tank? It isn't a Johnson tank, it is an old Gale tank. Will work on a Johnson though.

that is exactly it!! i dont know why i thought it was a johnson i gues because i was working with a johnson also.. thank you very much now i just have to find that barbed fitting in the picture!!
