Any reason that a Laser II could not be tried on a Bravo drive? Here are Merc's suggestions from their site, but I don't understand why a Bravo 1 doesn't make the list except that there are few on boats below 22'. I have a 23 footer, and have a chance to get a Laser with 24" pitch cheap. I am thinking about trying it just to see if I could break 60 once
  • Three-blade stainless steel design
  • High-rake design for greater lift on 15-18 foot outboard- and 18-22 foot Alpha sterndrive-powered boats
  • Thinner blades reduce drag and increase top speed while improving handling
  • For outboards 75 hp and up and sterndrive sport boats 22 feet and under

Isn't the Laser II a 13 1/4 or 13 1/2" diameter prop?

Laser II Propeller 13 3/4 X 25 RH SS
Laser II Propeller 13 3/4 X 23 RH SS 3 BL
Laser II Propeller 13 7/8 X 21 RH SS 3 BL
Laser II Propeller 14 X 19 RH SS 3 BL

This is what I get from Mercs site for ordering . . . Funny, but this one is supposedly a 24" annnnd the ordering site does include Bravos . . . Once in a while I buy props off Craig's list, try them, and sell for a profit on eBay if I don't like 'em. I may buy this one no matter what, but I'd love to try it too.

They jump all over the place in diameter, the dia in the 22 that i used was 13.5 so i called merc and no problems was the reply..Im sure the dia had some influnce on the high slip but it saved me the cost of doing a 22p enertia. Ive talked a bit with some of the guys over at the carravelle forum running Enertia's with a 13.5 dia and a volvo sx drive.. no issues there..

But Mkos is running a laser 11 on a larger Wellcraft than mine and loves it.
