Can I ask you knowledgeable people the best way to move my battery from starboard side to Port side.

I have rear seats on each side of the motor. It So happens my 9.9 Kicker is on the same side as the battery. For weight balance, I'd like to have it on the other side.

There is access underneath these seats from side to side. Should I simpily Add length to the existing Wiring. Is there a reliable way to do this, Splice? Solder? Is the extra length any issues?

Re: Relocating Battery

I am not a big fan of putting a splice on the motor to battery cable. On mine I made the extention to the battery by adding a power cut-off switch for the positive side and added a distrubution stud for the negative side. I felt this gave a good solid connection and also served to gave me a way to turn the power off. I also wouldn't think adding a couple of feet of wire would make that big of deference as long as you weren't in a bolderline situation. Check your electrical charts to make sure.

Don't splice a battery cable. Only asking for trouble if you do.

Honker had a great idea by adding the cut-off switch and a new cable. How much longer (if any) would the battery cable need to be?

Thanks Guys,

Moody Blue...The extra length would be just enough to get direct to the other side storage compartment, appx 4 feet or so.

Yea, I like the idea of a terminal block, with ability for power cuttoff.
