I have a 1985 85hp force that has the black cd boxes and the black coils. I came across an 89 125 force for cheap but it has the blue coils. will the blue ones work on my 85 hp force?

You wont find a 100% true opinion on the blue/black cdi swap. I was always told to keep them matched blue to blue and black to black. My engine had black when I bought it and now I replaced with all blue and it works fine.
you can use one blue & one black module as long as you use the blue coils with blue module and the black coils with the black, had my 85 hp this way for two yrs and ran without a problem
