Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows where/what the low speed knob should be adjusted to? It wont idle unless you choke it. After checking the low speed adjustment knob, I came to found that it was only 1/2 turn out!! This cant be right!! Anybody know what these come from the factory set at? (how many turns out)?? Thanks for your help in advance, and have a good day!

Hello. The book for 1981 says to back the 9.9 slow speed needle one full turn and fine tune from there. You may find you have to open it a little more but the motor should start and idle at that setting. You may find you have to turn it in from there as well. At a half turn your motor was probably sneezing from too lean a mix. Rick.

Edit: Woops I was looking at the book and TD gave you the answer. We all have to familiarize ourselves with the "Top Secret Stuff" link.

I only have the specs on the 89 motor that is 2 1/2 turns out from gently bottomed.Final adjustment done in gear unrestrained. Some motors you may have to remove the knob to get the initial setting.
