vacuum gauge carb tuning

I do this on my carbureted Jeep all the time and it works great. Vacuum gauge on manifold vac and adjust idle screws to highest vac reading. On my Q-jet there is only one vac port. Is that where I would hook up the vac gauge if I wanted to use this technique. That's probably a stupid question, but the only vac port I have is hooked to a diaphram. Does anyone have any procedures for this?

Have you looked on the intake manifold for a removable plug that you can use to install a brass nipple to tap for vacuum?

I tried the vacuum method for setting mixture screws and found that any measurable difference in vacuum reading could be heard with my ears just as well, although when syncronizing multiple carbs it's a must.

Can you "tee" the vacuum line going to the diaphram?
