Geeesh, Check the existing posts first before starting a new one

I have a habit before I start to post a new topic. I check out what topics have been posted first. This helps eliminate reading several topics over the same story. Good example is the reversed iboats logo, today it is about the abandoned boats. All it takes is to check out the posts first to see if someone has got to the story first. Some get duplicated from one forum such as in the boating and in Dockside Chat. I know the mods have a rough time keeping track and as far as I'm concerned they do a fantastic job for just being volunteers. Thanks..............SS

Maybe this should become an all forums sticky. 5 minutes after this was posted, yet another abandoned boats thread was started.. sigh.

If it is about boats it goes in the Boats Forum, where there are already about 5.

OK, that's it. I've been a member since 2003 and have never been a posting hog.

I checked this forum for duplicates--there were none.

The flaming tone in the responses is both unwarranted and inexcusable.

jinx, you may have been the 1st one to post. The duplicates might have been people following your post. Out of five topics, someone had to be the first. That person gets the relevant news topic award, as I would not have seen it if it wasn't posted here. I avoid news sites like the plague.

thats kind of forum 101 if you ask me. Holds true for any forum you visit. chances are its already been covered. a 10 second search will net you the answer. in fact I think Ive only started a handfull of topics here.
