Yes, I'm a big kid. I love the fact I am able to do what I could never do as a young'n. This time, it includes possibly adding glow-in-the-dark paint in some clear gelcoat and spraying it on my boat.

Has anyone had any good/bad experience with glow paint? From what I read, some glow paint lasts for 12 hours!

Now, I'm not planning on going crazy with it, as it is pricey, but making a border around the boat would be both safe and just plain cool in my book. I considered painting a glow paint giant toothed mouth on the bow, but my art skills just aren't up for that challenge.

Here is a site which sells it for those interested: http://glowinc.com

C'mon! Someone must have already played with this stuff!

When I was a kid I had glow in the dark stars and planets on my bedroom ceiling, but I never thought of applying it to a boat. It would probably have some benefits...especially if you're an eel fisherman.

Well, I'll order some up and I guess I'll be the guiney pig. I'll start by painting a pinstripe and work from there. I just know once I get it mixed up I'll want to highlight just baout everything on the boat.. must.. fight.. urge.

Based on the cost of the paint  I would consider led lights maybe around the rub rail.

Consider you can go wild with the led's and vene have them flash in a pattern....... but that's just me.

yea, $500 is a lot of money for a gallon of paint, but he is not painting his whole boat with it. I think that if you have the money to spend on it and you want to try it go ahead. I think it sounds pretty cool and it has given me an idea also.

I am in the auto body business and depending on the color, 1 gallon of paint can paint 2 small cars. I may have missed it but how big is your boat?

HAHA, I don't know why everyone was quoting the 1 gallon price. I'm only planning on buying about an ounce in order to make a pinstripe around the perimeter and on some doodads inside. They also sell it as powder while can get added to clear-coat (which is what I'll likely get) for around $15.

I'm still tempted about the wide open shark mouth on the bow. I wonder if they sell a paint by number for that, hehe
