I purchased the boat this year, the engine was overhauled last year, about 1000.00 put into the engine, I have Force 50HP motor just started today after running for 2 to 3 minutes a loud buzzing sounds comes from the dash. Is this caused by the water pump? Is it over heating? Also I noticed on the lower unit, where 4 bolts mount the lower unit there is a hole near the front right bolt about the size of 22 gauge wire. Is this normal? Thanks for the help.
Here is a picture of the hole,

Also if someone know of a good O/B mechanic near Baltimore, please let me know, thanks again

Re: Force 50HP, Please help

I've never heard the buzzing sound myself, but the more recent Forces have an alarm when they are getting too hot. It's a big benefit, as I had an old Chrysler with no alarm, it overheated and never ran well again. The impeller replacement isn't too difficult, search the forum for directions. It can be done by yourself if you have a little technical experience. I have done it.
You mentioned spending some money on this motor already, if the impeller was already changed then it is more complicated, could be the thermostat isn't opening or you have blockage with the water system. Good Luck
