We had to sell our beloved Chrysler Pacifica last year because the gas mileage was so poor. Now we see them all over the place. The pain is worsened by the fact that the 2007 Chevy Impala we bought to replace it is a complete and utter piece of shi!t.

I had a Pacifica as a rental for a week on biz..I was upset because I had a chrysler 300 reserved..But that Pacifica touring edition was one of THE most comfortable son of a guns, could have packed in the family and gone 3,000 miles easy...very nice, I feel for ya EZ...Sorry to hear bout the Impala..I was kinda drawn to it....

I have owned a number of cars but only a few boats. The car and boat that I get/got inquiries about constantly was my 1968 VW Beetle (long since sold) and the boat I currently run, my MFG Niagara. I constantly get comments and people who want to chat about my boat. But I don't see them everywhere- although I guess considering the age and all I do see a lot of them.

Yeah it was a bummer of a situation. My wife and I have a long commute and we ride together. She drops me off and then continues to her job. Mine is about 35 miles and hers is around 40. We bought the Pacifica for a family vehicle and to shlep our toddler and all his associated paraphernalia around. Our other car was my beloved 2000 Buick Regal. We didn't commute in the Pacifica because of the poor mileage so we just drove the heck out of the Regal. Well the Regal needed some expensive repairs and with gas prices what they were we were hardly ever driving the Pacifica. It didn't make much sense to keep a car with a $430 payment that we didn't drive (although it was nice to have). So we traded both cars in on a 2007 Impala with 35k miles on it. Although we took quite a beating on the Pacifica our payment dropped to $360. At the time it seemed like we made the right decision but this damn Impala has just turned out to be a lemon. There's a huge list of things wrong with it. And of course none of it is covered by our worthless powertrain warranty. It is literally the worst car we've ever owned. I'm a huge GM guy but I'll tell ya, the next car is going to be a Honda. Wish me luck that on Saturday the $120 hose the shop is putting on it makes my check light turn off.

too bad you are having a trouble with the Impala. I have a buddy who is a GM tech - they don't see many of the Impalas for warrenty work at all. Maybe that's the reason why a fairly new car was up for sale- problems for p.o.? Hard to say.

Hope it goes better for you.

I don't know. There weren't any red flags. It was a lease return, GM Certified car. The only thing wrong with it when we bought it was warped brake rotors and a small oil leak but the dealer took care of those things. We've put 15k miles on it since Sept and the other issues have cropped up in that time. Right now it has the check engine light on, the steering is chunking (I'm sure it needs an intermediate shaft which will cost hundreds so that's not getting fixed), the suspension is noisy, and it constantly pops up a message saying the battery in our key fob remote needs to be replaced but when you replace it the message comes back in a week or two. Basically it feels like driving a car with high mileage. My wife and I are just bummed because we now know we should have just fixed my Regal and kept the Pacifica instead of buying this car. Adding insult to injury is the $2 gas. I swear, when we bought the Pacifica gas immediately shot up to $4. When we sold it they immediately dropped to $2. How's that for luck?

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Kev! On a related note, I can't believe how many Starcrafts we've been seeing popping up on iBoats as of late. I hope they are as plentiful when I start looking for a SuperSport in a couple years.

Well then thank you for selling the Pacifica. I for one appreciate $2/gallon gas :) and would prefer it at $1/gal

its been pretty common for me for whatever I drive. Although whenever I run in to someone with an FD like mine we are always both suprised that the other guy is just as enthusiastic about the boat.

Ummm, nope. I have never seen another boat like mine. Hurricane Midships 240.

So unique that I don't even have a picture of it on this computer.
