I own the above model and was replacing the impellor when my grandson accidently kicked over the pile of parts that go on the drive shaft (couple washer looking items, a plastic cap and a spring). My question is: In what order do these parts get re-installed between the powerhead and drive shaft?

Thanks kindly for the help.

there should be a brass cup. It goes on first, then the spring fits inside the cup, then the carbon seal then the larger thrust washer. The thrust washer will have wear on one side. That side goes to the motor.

Thanks for yourprompt answer.:)

I will be taking the engine apart again to see if that is how I did it. I believe it was done that way but it will be taken down to make sure. Also, I had pinched the gasket which goes between the power head and the outer jacket which contains all the parts and want to replace it even though it was new. I enjoy working on engines. Sort of a challenge.

Thanks again.

That was the way I had it assembled. The gasket was sliced so I replaced it.

Thanks,

Kirscher:)

Not to hijack this thread , but I'm doing a cd 17 and when i took the powerhead off that top washer stuck to the powerhead and fell off, and I was not sure which way it went back on. From the diagram it looks like the rubber gasket is on the top, therefore against the powerhead. Are you saying the flat side of the metal washer goes against the powerhead and the rubber gasket with the little lip faces down against the carbon seal ?????? Again not trying to hijack just want to make sure I get this one right the first time !!!! Thank you !!

Do you happen to have the part number on the powerhead to lower unit gasket on the CD-13? I have a CD-14 and have found every part other than that gasket. Hopefully I can get it on iboats!
