Normal cruising RPM?S for a 470 MerCruiser

Purchased an 18 foot deck boat with a bad 470 MerCruiser 3.7 engine had the engine rebuilt, upgraded to an electronic ignition, 4 inch heat exchanger and a new type alternator as recommended by these forms, have all ready installed new stringers along with floor and upholstery is almost ready

What should the cruising rpm?s be and what are the max rpm?s for this engine I don?t want to blow it up after all the cost and time involved

Gee I really love this boat that is why I kept the engine so it would be kinda stock

the manual states 2500-3500rpm cruise and around 4800 wot rpm.

Thank you very much abj87 , I purchased the SELOC # 3200 from this site, but did not get an owners manual with the boat

You told me exactly what I needed to know to have fun not failure
