Re: 9 hp Recoil Starter Won't Pull
We had this same problem with my neighbor's 8 hp last week. Check the flywheel "interlock" setup.. it's a cable and pin that stops the flywheel from turning when the motor is in gear. The cable can stick and not kick back all the way, even when the motor is in neutral. It's on the left side of the flywheel from the tiller side of the motor.. can't miss it. Pull on the cable a bit and see if it will release the recoil cord.
