mercruiser control face cam removal

Hello my friends...

Split the control box on my 1968 120hp merc...Solec is nonsense, but merc manual has these easy breezy steps (Thanks Don S, appreciate the work involved)

1. remove set screws, seprate housing (DONE)
2. remove detent spring and roller (DONE)
3. move "N" safety switch out of the way (Easy)
4. Lift Face Cam out of housing (nope!)


I dont know what I'm missing, other than this cam hasn't been touched since I was 3 years old...

never mind..

i realized I only removed the roller and not the retention spring..geeez..right there in b&w...

glad ya got it figured out cbk. don't feel bad either. i re read the service manual all the time. i can't tell ya how long it takes me sometimes for a statement to set in before i get it...

I hate when that happens.

You would think that by retyping the freeekin instructions it woulda hit me but noooooooooo!
