just to let those interested, i receive my cmc power trim last week. i'm just waiting on my adapter kit for transom clamp motors. i should have those soon. and also waiting on the weather to warm up a bit. it's still cold here in newfoundland canada. 30F and snow flurries today. so be a bit more patient and i will have pics and videos ready for you all. it is a very nice unit and very well built. i can't wait to get it on.

Couldn't do it man, I am in way north Indiana and winter seems to last forever here but I have been out 3 times already.

The first thing I remember from when I got mine is they weigh a stone ton, still love it though.

You will find they run really slow when it is cold out.

i won't mind that. i know i run slow when it's cold out too. lol. it's cold here a lot most of the time. i miss the warm climates. it will be another month before the lake thaws out but another two weeks, depending on the weather, when the dirt road dries out enough that i can tow my boat over it. can't wait . i got cabin fever bad.

You will really enjoy that new CMC unit. I bought one last year, piece of cake to install. Took a while to figure out where I wanted to hang the wiring loom and to add two more trim switches into the mix. I love mine it was a great investment. Have fun.

i'm a bit nervous. i have a transom clamp on motor. it says not to install it too low because of the distance from the back of the boat and the water travel, etc. i'll have to fit it a couple of times before the final bolting i guess.

I know what you mean, mine also has the transom clamps on the motor. I went over it and over it in my mind before installing. We knew that it worked well where it was before getting the CMC so we used that height as a template for the CMC. The motor may be an inch or so higher or lower than where it was before because of the setback the CMC provides but it made no difference in the performance. I get a much better top end and love launching and recovering without having to walk back and raise the motor. I could take pictures of my installed CMC if it would help in any way.

This is something I am considering adding to my new (and I might add 1st) boat.

I know little to nothing about making this upgrade. Is there somewhere to get CMC info?

I have had mine for 5-6 years and never had a problem with it, worth every penny.

Don't spend the money on the trim gauge, you will never use it, you just get used to where it is and where it needs to be.

Here is the link for the CMC site. www.cook-mfg.net/

Thanks! This will probably be an upgrade for next year, just gathering info for now. Where's the best place to purchase? Sorry if I am highjacking this thread - still getting used to the protocol for the board..

Oh - as far as your weather goes, you can keep it, I lived in Indiana for a while too , in Arkansas now, its short sleeve weather here in the afternoons now! First time I had ice form on my face while shoveling snow I knew I was too far north LOL.

Re: got my cmc power trim

hey hp, if you could post a couple of pics, that would be awesome, just to give me some reference of the height to install the unit. it says that the cavitation place should be 1" to 3" above the bottom of the boat for best performance. is this where your is?

also i'm lucky enough that i have a three wire trim switch on my throttle control already so i'm going to mount the included switch near the back somewhere.

any info would be helpful. thanks

Re: got my cmc power trim

thanks a ton hp. that will definitely help me out big time. i appreciate your time for sure. i just got my transom clamp adaptor yesterday, so i'm hoping for a little warmer weather this week so i can get this going. the only problem i will have is where my steering line hooks onto my motor. i'll have to add a piece on so it will connect to it. but that is minor. again, thanks for the help.
