50 hp merc outboard. The solas hub is bonded to the splines on the prop shaft..

Tried the BIG hammer after some PB Blaster with no luck.
Thought of a wheel puller but the thrust washer is rounded on the edge so the 3 jaw puller won't grip it..

Any tricks guys? Tried some heat but didn't want to get it hot enough to damage shaft seals.

Can't believe how cheap the hub is made with the plastic retainer nut...

Blaster is okay, but try the Kano Aerokroil..... I have had that release stuff that a torch did not work on. Otherwise maybe a 2 jaw puller? A torch would be my last option.

Yuk, Yuk! Take off the nut and put it in reverse in about 100 feet of water. Murphy guarantees it will come off! LOL Sorry! Just couldn't resist!

Rubber mallet at the blade roots and plenty of penetrant. You probably have a combination of corrosion welding and old hardened grease. Just be patient--you need to outlast it. Eventually it will start to move. It is, after all, a bronze hub on a stainless shaft.

Thanks guys....yea it was a salt water motor and the prop was not greased for who knows how long.
If all else fails then the cut off wheel down the hub the long way.Maybe it will split open...
The prop had spun and messed up the 4 pins in the hub. The boat is useless until this is fixed.Prop was so loose it was hitting the cav plate..
