Decarb Instructions

Trying to find decarb instructions for 9.9HP 1992 Evinrude with low compression. Specifically, 40psi top, 65psi bottom. Or is it too far gone for decarb to be effective? Thank you.

Look in the Engine Frequently Asked Questions. If it runs then it is not too late to do a decarb. Clean it then run it for an hour and recheck. Some engines react like a miracle has been preformed.

Thank you all for the information. Glad to hear there is hope! Actually, once it starts it runs pretty good. Carb is clean and fuel in bowl. Process of elimination comes down to lack of vacuum reflected by low compression or crankcase vacuum leak. Hoping increased compression via decarb will solve starting problems.
