To give everybody credit for trying to help, i was totally lost with his post and am still not sure what he is talking about. Anyways impellars are cheap.

So you had water to the outdrive and to the pump inside on the engine? Maybe I dont understand enough about it, but dont you just need it to the outdrive?

Is this a boat with an Apha system....that has an added on engine driven pump so it can have full closed cooling? I had heard that for an Apha to have full closed cooling (adding the manifolds) the drive mounted pump does not flow enough water to remove the heat needed for full closed cooling, so some will add an engine driven pump...supposedly the impeller is left in the drive to cool the part of the drive that the exhaust runs through....not sure if any of this is right but I do recall hearing about an engine mounted pump having to be added for full closed cooling.

BTW changed the one in my Cobra after 2 years in salt water, looked good enough to leave in...kept it in its housing as a spare.

Amazing. So many people with so many opiinions, and few if any that even understand how his cooling system is set up, but still able to tell other people they are wrong or don't know what they are talking about.
