Alright guys, I was working on the boat tonight and going through the maintenance part of the manual. I set the carb adjustment screws according to the manual. Next on the list, check the fuel filters. So in trying to loosen the fuel inlet nut, it busted the fuel line. Currently I have it plugged. So I will need a new fuel line. But the main reason I posted was to show others what can happen when you don't change your filter for a while *new to me boat, had it less than 2 months*.

Below is a picture of a NASTY filter. I can imagine why I couldn't get my boat to run over 2500 RPM yesterday.

That is one of the reasons to run a fuel/water sep. filter. You can make a new line using steel brake line tubing and "DOUBLE FLARE" kit.

The boat has one, but I haven't ventured to break it yet.. lol

Maybe in the next hour or two. I'm pretty bored.

Braided brake line sounds a lot better than a stiff metal hose. I like the sound of flexible and available.

Where could I find all the parts?

Not sure if "flexible" is allowed on the pressure side

good call, so it would have to be solid and not braided right?

That's a good article. I read that a few weeks back, I'm passively very active "lurker." *oooh i just found page 2*

I guess what I meant was I was going out to remove the fuel / water separator. I got that knocked out, I'll be getting a new one of those tomorrow.

The fuel line is on the way from North Carolina and should be here by Wednesday at the latest. This feels pretty good to be able to do some of the simple stuff. I'm REALLY limited on tools right now. Dad's loaning me a thoroughly mixed spare socket set contained by a rubbermaid container. They do the trick, and boy this will be my treat!
