First outboard, Honda B100...

Hi, I just bought my first outboard, it is a Honda B100-1100007, 10hp blue & white short shaft. I called Honda and they couldn't tell me what year it was without the first owner's last name, which I don't have. I was told it was an 80's model, that's it, but it seams to run good in the tank so far.

Could anyone tell me what year this outboard is?

Thx.

Look at the spark plug wires. They have a year of manufacturer stamped on them.

These are great little motors, just keep the oil and fuel clean and change out the impeller and they will serve you well.

You can go to the website boatsnet.com to see an exploded view of your motor maybe it will give you an idea how check out the t-stat.
I have downloaded the repair manual for that motor from a website offered on this site, maybe some one can offer that up.
Good luck, Nick.

hello,I just bought a lowe 1236 with a Honda b100(b100-1001437)both bought in 1990 new.I finally got it started, and could not keep in running.Checked the plugs and adjustment on the carb.Adjustment screw was out 3 1/2 turns.I backed it down to 1 1/2 turns and got it running. The water discharge from the weep holes was minimal, but the discharge from the motor was pretty good.As soon as the motor got got warm(real warm)I couldn't keep it running again. So I suspect the impeller needs to be changed and maybe the fuel pump diaphragm.I can not find decent instructions on changing the impeller except on u tube(I am new deaf)so here I am again looking for some help!
