I want to remove the existing hubs on my trailer to make room for the drum brakes. How do I remove the existing hub?(no brakes now)

Re: Hub removal

Unless you have some sort of odd set-up, You have to pop the bearing cap, then remove the cotter pin and nut that hold the bearings in. After that, the hub and bearings should slide right off the axle.

Re: Hub removal

I found no cotter pin. So I removed all the grease from around the nut and found a tab. bent tab and removed everything. Tab is on a spacer behind the nut. Yes I have flanges. Have the brakes on. Just need to wire it all up. Thanks guys
