Won't Start

I have a 1979 2hp Evinrude, model 2902A. I have cleaned the tank, replaced the gas line taken the carb off and cleaned it but it still won't start, I'm getting spark and gas to the carb bowl?

Test compression. Also, try shooting a bit of premixed gas down the carb to see if it will pop.

The compression is not real good, it needs rings. Does the compression suck the gas out of the carb.?

Tight cylinders is what creates the vacuum to draw fuel from the carb bowl. What are your compression numbers?

Try shooting a little oil into the cylinders to temporarily seal the cylinders and see if it will pop.
