I'm getting ready to order new fuel tanks for the Blue Fin project finally. This is a 17' center console model with two outboards. Main motor is a 40 hp 4stroke yamaha, then I have a 4hp 4-stroke kicker for trolling. My intent is to have a seperate fuel tank for each motor. Now, I was originally intending to put the batteries up in the console to bring weight forward and keep the fuel tanks in the stern. Now, I am rethinking this. Shall I place the fuel tanks up in the console and batteries in stern or what? Or am I just overthinking this?

Re: Fuel Tank/Battery Location

You can plumb them together and have a valve to switch motors. tanks in the console and batteries in the stern are common practice..... take a look at the completed projects and look at DJ's center console whaler.
