What's everyone doing this weekend?

Here on Amelia Island, we're having the 46th annual Shrimp Festival. My family and I will be attending the festivities and probably hitting the beach. If anyone is in the Northeast Florida area, swing on by to Amelia Island and enjoy the seafood, shop for art, go antique-ing, etc.

What's everyone else's plans for the weekend?

Friday night ... littlest aspeck's piano recital
Saturday morning ... workday at the church
Saturday afternoon/evening ... weather permitting taking wife and littlest aspeck fishing
Sunday ... speaking 60 miles away in am and back to home church for PM service.

Nothing too exciting in the weekend mix of things.

Hoping that the weatherman is wrong - again, and that the weather is good enough to get the boat out. Between the weather and work, I am not doing so well with getting on the water.

We're getting the pontoon ready for our first trip of the season to Charleston Lake in Ontario Canada at the end of May.

My boat "chores" include putting new bearings in the hubs and putting on the new tires. I have to work on the gas guage and just general clean up.

Let's see. . tomorrow night, as well as probably Saturday morning (afternoon also, most likely) repair boat. Saturday night, go to the game to watch the TAMPA BAY RAYS beat the crap out of the boston red sox. Sunday, hope to take newly repaired boat out for a test run, weather and repairs permitting.

Well I'll be at work. I work at a power plant and right now we're shut down for maintanance so we work 12hr days 7 days a week till we're back up...hopefully next week some time. I'm going on 4 straight weeks w/o a day off. Oh well that's how I was able to afford a newer (bigger) truck to pull the boat with

Really hoping one of these weekends to get out for the maiden voyage for the year!!! but with the weather like it's been lately in the midwest I'd just as well be working so I can take time off when the weather finally does straighten out!!

Saturday- fishing then a wedding (not mine)

Sunday- MS walk in the morning then meet with the music director at the church to discuss my wedding in June.

Had lunch with a pretty lady today. Yeahhh... the same one who has been helping me paint the house. LOL

We made a "date" for Monday morning to start painting this room. Got all the furniture outta here yesterday, other than the computer desk.

Tomorrow, a guy is supposed to come over and look at my big engine for sale. We'll see. If it DOES sell, I'm going to be seriously busy looking for another engine for my little boat. THAT whole project should keep me busy until paint time on Monday! LOL!

Just had a little evening out Mrs. i386. Now I'm about to turn on slacker radio, warm up the soldering iron, and open a cold one. Got some work to do on the bench tonight.

Tomorrow, haul off the trash and take care of honey do's. Maybe piddle around the yard a bit. If my buddy's done ripping some lumber for me I'll get to work on a little project. Might do a little guitar picking Sat. night or watch a movie.

Sunday I'll get up and fix some homemade biscuits and hot sausage. Probably drink a pot of coffee before I decide what I want to do...

Same here, spent some time today installing a new fuse block, my gps chartplotter, and my depth finder. Just have to finish up some wiring tomorrow, and hope the weather gods are in a good mood Sunday.

I noticed you're on the South River, that's where I bought my boat last month.

Finishing up some maintenance on my '69 6hp Johnson kicker. As always seems to happen with these things, I started out with a minor problem a few weeks ago (shift handle was sticking), and ended up with a busted bolt that had to be extracted.I then had to helicoil the bunged up hole. After that, I made the "mistake" of pulling the head to see what the cooling passages looked like, and discovered that the head had corroded in such a way to make a decent seal on the new head gasket doubtful. Pulled the head off of a parts motor that I have, reinstalled and decided that I might as well do the impeller too. Oh yeah, I also pulled the entire swivel/transom bracket apart the other day to clean and grease it.

Why is it that I always have to turn a two day project into a two week project?

Take the tyke to the New Orleans Air Show - he's into airplanes now. I made the mistake of showing him a dopey little combat flight simulator that I have. He doesn't do very well at "shooting down" the Japanese planes, but he has figured out how to turn the airplane upside down, and he knows how to climb and dive. He's also a master at crashing. I tried to teach him how not to crash, but then realized I was being an old moron 'cause, well, he's 3-1/2 and he likes to crash!

Now what I immediately hear on the days that I have him is, "daddy! I want to do the airplane!"

Took the tyke and his 12 year old cousin to the airshow today. I was a little worried that the fighter jets would be a frightening to a 3-1/2 year old, because of the noise. LOL, afraid? Not hardly! He went nuts over them! I think that the F-22 was his favorite. That might be because of the things the airplane can do with vectored thrust - I think it reminded him of how he flies the airplanes in my flight simulator!
